At TGPAHH, we recognise that in today’s increasingly interconnected and interdependent world, understanding languages is a skill that broadens horizons and enriches our children’s experiences.

It deepens the children’s understanding of, and respect for, different cultures in our local, national and global communities and helps to prepare children to study or work within roles or settings that require expertise in another language.

The study of Latin gives children a foundational understanding of the structure of language and supports in the learning of all other languages that they may go on to study. As well as this, it forms building blocks to cement knowledge of the English language which helps children’s development of their reading and writing skills.

At TGPAHH, we use the excellent Maximum Classics curriculum developed by Charlie Andrews (https://maximumclassics.com/) to support our teaching of Latin.
