Admissions Policy

About our Early Years Unit
Our Early Years unit is comprised of our children in Preschool, Nursery and Reception, who together will experience opportunities to mix in learning opportunities at different stages within our provision.
Nursery Group
Children become eligible for our Nursery sessions in the September after their third birthday.
Nursery sessions are offered as the options below: –
- 15 Hours funded AM sessions only (8.50am-11.50am- gates will close at 9am) – Monday to Friday
- 30 Hours funded (8.50am-2.50pm- gates will close at 3pm).
- Additional chargeable sessions can be booked as independent afternoon sessions (see prices below).
Preschool Group
Children are eligible to join our Preschool Group from the term after their 2nd birthday and will continue in the group until they reach the term after their 3rd birthday.
Nursery sessions are available for our AM morning session only.
- 15 Hours AM only (8.50am-11.50am- gates will close at 9am).
- 30 Hours will be available from September 2025 subject to availability.
We offer annual intakes in September, January and April in line with the term after your child’s birthday (Spaces dependent).
Funding
Nursery Group
All 3-year-olds entitled to 15 hours of nursery education the term after their third birthday.
Additional 15 hours funding is also available for working families. For more information and guidance on your eligibility, please visit the government website www.childcarechoices.gov.uk.
Parents can pay privately for up to 15 additional hours of education. Payments will be made via Childcare Bookings, prices on request. Please note that when additional privately paid places are agreed for a full term on a regular weekly basis, these charges are guaranteed, regardless of your child’s attendance. Occasional ad-hoc requests will be considered, however cannot be guaranteed, pre-booked sessions are preferred.
We hold an open evening each year in the Autumn term for parents of children looking to start in nursery or reception the following year. Details of this will be available on our website.
Pre-School Group
As of April 2024, 15 hours government funding is being offered for 2-year-olds the term after their second birthday. From September 2025, an additional 15 hours may be available if eligible.

Parents can pay privately for non-funded places of up to 30 hours. Payments will be made via Childcare Bookings, prices on request. Please note that when additional privately paid places are agreed for a full term on a regular weekly basis, these charges are guaranteed, regardless of your child’s attendance.

All snacks, nappies, and wipes are provided by you the parent/carer – We do not provide these items – Thank you.
If your child joins us during their preschool year, they will automatically be enrolled for the following Nursery year. You will be required to submit a admission application form through Solihull Borough Council in order to secure your child’s Reception Class place.
