We have had a creative start to the year in Year 5.

It’s snowing!

In Year 5, we have been writing a narrative to retell the story of ‘The Snowman.’ We pretended it was snowing to inspire us to gather vocabulary for what we see, hear and feel in the snow. We had a great time and produced fantastic pieces of writing!

In Maths, we have been looking at Place Value and Addition and Subtraction. We have enjoyed lots of practical lessons as you can see in the photos below.

In History, we have been discussing the influence of the Anglo-Saxon invasion on Britain and our modern-day place names. We learnt about what a typical Anglo-Saxon house might have looked like and we used our inference skills to decipher what the artefacts told us about Anglo-Saxon life.

In Science, we have been learning about Earth and Space and Humans and Living Things. Here is a fact file we made about Neil Armstrong.
